Sunset at Seta, Lake Biwa

近江八景「瀬田夕照」

Seta Bridge in sunset glow, reflected light rippling across Lake Biwa — Sunset at Seta, Lake Biwa. The Metropolitan Museum of Art (public domain).

Seta’s great bridge at sunset is Ōmi travel poetry in one span. The evening tag turns structure and water into a single warm surface.

Evening tag unifies bridge and lake — trace orange bokashi across both.

Compare horizontal sunset with vertical moonrise at Ishiyama.

Study bridge rhythm as the composition’s stable center.
