Vermeer Gallery
Stillness and light in a single room.
Follow the light that stays within a single room — browse themed works in quiet sequence.
Johannes Vermeer (1632–1675) is the master of the Delft interior — only about three dozen paintings are thought to survive. Rather than sweeping landscapes or dramatic narratives, he painted stillness within a room. Light from the left quietly illuminates walls, cloth, and ceramic surfaces, as if time had paused.
Where Hiroshige opens the road and Hokusai sculpts form, Vermeer keeps the gaze inside the chamber. Each work in the themed gallery breathes that stillness.
