The Lake at Hakone in Sagami Province
相州箱根湖水（冨嶽三十六景）
- Bird's-eye View
- Water
- Mountain
Hokusai looks down into Hakone’s volcanic bowl. The bird’s-eye viewpoint makes overlapping mountain forms the main drama before Fuji appears.
Bird’s-eye viewpoint — trace how ridges stack like folded paper before Fuji emerges.
Water and mountain forms interlock; the lake reads as a dark pupil in rugged terrain.
Contrast this aerial severity with the flat calm of Lake Misaka’s reflection.
